Bathroom Remodeling with Xpand

Spring has arrived in Minnesota—what a perfect time to refresh and rejuvenate your home! Did you know that in addition to amazing additions, decks, porches, kitchens and sport courts, Xpand can help you design and build the bathroom of your dreams?

Let’s take a look at a master bathroom project that Xpand recently completed in Stillwater! The existing bathroom, like many of its age, was a large space not being fully utilized and starting to look dated. The homeowners were ready to get rid of the enormous jetted tub, enlarge the walk-in shower and remove a wall between vanity/bathing spaces to make this bathroom one larger space, fully updated and packed with personality.

Before:

At Xpand, our process works simply and efficiently: contact us via phone, email or contact us through our website and we will connect you with one of our amazing salespeople. Dave, Andy and Jess are seasoned construction professionals with years of experience in projects of all shapes and sizes. One of them will contact you to discuss your project. Together, you’ll determine if your project is a good fit for Xpand and a date will be made for an on-site visit at your home.

The site visit to your home is a great time for you and your salesperson to connect and to discuss your vision for your project. By the time the site visit is completed, you should have a good idea of what to expect from your relationship with Xpand, how your project will progress, what it’s like to work with us and a budget estimate for your project. Should you decide to proceed with the design phase of your project, Xpand will collect a payment of 10% of your budgeted cost. This down payment allows Xpand to start working on a customized design for your space.

That seems straightforward and simple, doesn’t it?

Once you approve your new design, we will start helping you make selections for your bathroom’s materials. This is the fun part! With the help of our talented design staff, you will select items such as: bathtubs, toilets, sinks, faucets, showering systems, tile and accessories. There are a lot of beautiful products and materials out there, so it can seem daunting to choose, but your designer at Xpand will always be there to assist!

After:

Now, back to our Stillwater bathroom, which encompasses many of Spring 2024’s design trends. The number one trend is still the freestanding bathtub. As you can see, Xpand installed a beautiful bathtub into this renovated space. What a great way to relax and bring that spa-like feeling into the bathroom. This is another trend that continues to grow in popularity—continued emergence of customized bathing and showering options, such as steam showers, rainhead/handheld showering systems or body jets. Why leave your home for a spa day, when Xpand can bring the spa directly to you?

Another trend is the use of colors and textures found in nature.: notice the beautiful wood-tone shade of the cabinetry. While painted cabinetry is still very popular, we think it’s so gorgeous, warm and inviting to see that natural wood grain (and right on trend!). The countertops are a creamy-toned quartz that mimics marble, again–bringing the outdoors in. The black porcelain floor tile resembles slate but is much easier to maintain and provides a great contrast with the warm white walls and crisp white tile!

This bathroom also highlights the trend of black hardware and mixing hardware finishes. Note the black faucets and accessories and of course, the dramatic black metal shower door. Black fixtures remain popular this year, along with gold tones, classic chrome and brushed nickel. Check out the stunning modern chrome and glass light fixtures over the vanity. As you can see, bringing that second metal tone really amps up the visual appeal!

This bathroom is truly customized for our client’s needs as well, which ties back to the spa-like experience. It wouldn’t be relaxing if your shampoo bottles and potions for the shower were not in their handy spots in the two niches, would it?  Or if you didn’t have a clean towel handy: take a look at the open cubbies for towel storage—beautiful, organized and functional! The vanity tower has wide, shallow drawers for makeup and the glass-fronted cabinet above has an outlet for blow dryers, toothbrushes or any of your USB-powered accessories. A place for everything and everything in its place will help your morning and evening routines run smoothly and efficiently!

Our Stillwater clients are so pleased with their new master bathroom–which trend is your favorite in this space?
